A Barsoom Story Tara meets Prince Gahan of Gathol, and is initially unimpressed, viewing him as something of a popinjay. Later she takes her flier into a storm and loses control of the craft, and the storm carries her to an unfamiliar region of Barsoom. After landing and fleeing from a pack of ferocious Banths (Martian lions), she is captured by the horrific Kaldanes, who resemble large heads with small, crab-like legs.
A tale of smuggling set among the cliffs, caves, and downs of Dorset. What will be the outcome of the conflict between smugglers and revenue men? How can the hero, John Trenchard, discover the secret of Colonel John Mohune's treasure? As the book progresses these two interwoven themes resolve themselves into a third and richer one, with the friendship and suffering of both John Trenchard and the craggy, taciturn Elzevir Block.
This is the second in my Tugboat Man series. This time, Tug is in the race of his life against some very bad...well... not quite people. The title tells the tale. No, it has nothing to do with the Da Vinci code. But it's in the ballpark. The wife is from Atlantis, so there are some unavoidable sci-fi aspects. But this is actually nothing more than pure romantic adventure. I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. D.T.
Harley and Ida Duran were share croppers and nice people in a time and place where nice people weren't appreciated. Share croppers were considered less valuable than dirt. However, there are those who can be nice and still persevere, no matter who their enemies may be. Harley teaches his enemies that it's okay to turn the other cheek... After that you make sure they can't smite you on the other cheek.
This is the most frequently downloaded of all my stories, so I thought I would post it here. It is the first of four in a series. I am posting the second one along with it. I'll add the other two if you like these. I consider myself the poet-laureate of the nerd world. And I want my stories to have a lot of twists and turns. That's what I am giving you here. I hope that you enjoy this as much as I did writing it.
A vivid and thrilling description of adventures encountered on the great plains of America by a party of gold hunters in the days of '49. The story abounds in dramatic situations, daring deeds, and miraculous escapes. The two books "The Rainbow of Gold", and "The Hidden Mine" tell how the adventurers found their treasure, and their struggles with freebooters to keep it. It is a fascinating story of experiences on the frontier.
A Barsoom Story Carter relates an adventure commencing with a private war he and his picked followers have been waging against the resurgent Guild of Assassins, led by Ur Jan.
